Fuchsia - 'Brilliant''Brilliant': This is a fuchsia variety that truly lives up to its name. I have had some splendid plants in recent years, all taken from a parent bought as a young freshly rooted cutting three years ago. First introduced in the UK in 1865 this is a well-proven, strong growing upright bush cultivar which has earned its place in the garden. Some fuchsia experts describe it as hardy, others as moderately so. In the English Midlands I've found it to survive well outdoors, but we've not had a really cold winter since I planted mine. The medium/large single flowers have scarlet sepals and tube over a violet-magenta corolla with red veins. 'Brilliant' will typically grow to between two and three feet. For a nicely shaped bush it is best pinched back early in the season. For fuchsia plants by post in the United Kingdom
